Step Five : Change Your Default WordPress Theme

You’re already good to go but if you’d like a different look and feel, you can change your theme!

How To Change Your Default WordPress Theme

WordPress comes packed with a wide range of free themes and it really is very easy to change the default theme to an alternative free template, right within your dashboard area.

  1. Go to ‘Appearance’ menu tab
  2. select ‘themes’ menu
  3. top right, select ‘install themes’
  4. click on either featured/newest/recently updated (or look through each)
  5. search for a theme you like
  6. click preview to see a visual display (overlay preview window will open)
  7. click install – to load/activate the theme into your themes choices

Then, go back to ‘Manage Themes’ and check the theme you want is activated and showing as your ‘Current Theme’.
